So some friends and I went to Yosemite last week... it was a great time of hanging out, being cheesy, appreciating God's creation, and having time of personal reflection... and then back to being cheesy again.  I definitely miss being there and would recommend you go if you get the chance!

Anyway, I wrote a quick song and the lyrics are wordy and don't make much sense, but you can kind of make sense of what I'm talking about if you read the words with the pic next to it.  Just wanted to share it because seriously God deserves some credit for His handiwork!  When I look at these pictures... seriously it seems like creation is screaming praise....

 Yosemite 2007 169

Behold, my eyes, the creativity of your God manifested in creation!

Look as far as your sight can see,

Trace the horizon off of rocky peaks lit up by the rising sun

And you'll capture a glimpse of His glory.  Oh, compell my heart to sing!

 Yosemite 2007 155

You are my God and my maker,

Maker of heaven and earth.

The earth sings a silent song proclaiming your great worth!

Worthy are you Lord Almighty!

Almighty Great I AM, I am amazed that in all of your splendor you are mindful of me!

(well... mindful of she in the picture above... she's the little vertical line on the cliff's edge)

Yosemite 658

Meandering river, carved by the finger of God, how your swiftly your streams soar off this stone (stoh-own!)!

Yosemite 2007 223

Like your waters His grace pours down off of the Rock of Ages

Like a waterfall divine that refreshes me with a misty breeze on a sunny day and rainbows pave its way!

Yosemite 2007 204

Oh it's clear in this place that all of this your hands have made

And your hand has created, is composing, and is conducting life's symphony!

*sidenote: whoa... if you're reading this Paul (or anyone for that matter), I think you were right when you called me a xanga nerd... I could've made this simple but instead it took a ridiculous amount of time posting this thing with pictures.  haha... oh well, I guess that concludes the year 2007.

it's time...

i got back from a jog and saw myself in the mirror right before i went into the shower and my eyes saw something like this.

they say a picture captures a thousands words, but i just thought of the two words aaron used to say whenever my hair was getting bad... "it's time."  yes, it's time.  anyway, if you're wondering how i get my hair to even look like that, here's a step by step explanation:

1. shave head.  the shorter, the better... if you leave too much it will cause problems later down the line and you will have to do your hair again quicker.  i recommend a zero, or bic it.

2. find an animal from the wild that has a long body in which the surface area of its body is big enough to cover the surface area of your scalp... a raccoon or a opossum will do.

3. skin animal and attach to head.  use adhesive that is strong enough to keep pelt stationary but is also gentle on the scalp.

there you have it.... well, as stupid as it sounds... it actually made me think about God's word.

"23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like."

James 1:23-24

of course i'd be the example of what james uses to say is unacceptable... awww man..

had a funny thought (you two people who know i have a xanga).  remember where's waldo?

well, God plays like this:

and not only does He know where every single person is by name, but He also knows all our thoughts as well.  but was thinking a game that's probably harder for Him to play is "where's worship?"  so many people under His mercy and grace, but so few give Him glory... what's up with the world?  what's up with us getting so caught up in this world!?  and why does God even pay attention to us!?  praise the Lord oh my soul!

"1 O LORD, you have searched me
       and you know me.
 2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
       you perceive my thoughts from afar.
 3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
       you are familiar with all my ways.
 4 Before a word is on my tongue
       you know it completely, O LORD.
 5 You hem me in—behind and before;
       you have laid your hand upon me.
 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
       too lofty for me to attain.
 7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
       Where can I flee from your presence?
 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
       if I make my bed in the depths, [a] you are there.
 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
       if I settle on the far side of the sea,
 10 even there your hand will guide me,
       your right hand will hold me fast.
 11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
       and the light become night around me,"
 12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
       the night will shine like the day,
       for darkness is as light to you.
 13 For you created my inmost being;
       you knit me together in my mother's womb.
 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
       your works are wonderful,
       I know that full well. "

"Some of you have become arrogant, as if I were not coming to you. But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power."  -1 Cor 4:18-20

Less talk... more walk.  Less of me, more of Thee!
